Mila Living is the next generation of thoughtfully designed home air purifiers. Unlike other air purifiers out on the market, Mila is a stylishly designed smart air purifier that can work quietly in the background to clean and circulate air in indoor spaces, enhancing indoor air quality while sitting pretty in your home.

Indoor Air Quality & Human Health

According to the U.S. EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), American’s on average spend about 90% of their time indoors, where the concentration of some air pollutants can be 2 to 5 times higher than typical outdoor concentration (since there is less ventilation and re-circulation of indoor air).

Most indoor air pollutants come from ingredients in household products like furniture, paints, carpets, and cleaning products. These indoor air pollutants are often referred to as VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), which are airborne gases that contribute to indoor air pollution, and can be toxic.

Negative human health effects associated with these indoor air pollutants or VOCs can include irritation of eyes, nose, and throat, headaches, fatigue, and respiratory issues.

Removing Harmful TVOCs

Mila is designed with a patent pending heavy duty dual-flow carbon filter that gives you best-in-class filtration for household odors, and harmful VOCs, helping to remove between 74.85% to 97.89% of TVOCs (Total Volatile Organic Compounds).

Since VOCs don’t refer to any specific substance, but a group of substances with similar chemical properties, TVOC is used instead to make is easier to measure the overall amount or group of VOCs polluting the air in a given space. There are thousands of VOCs, and a few of the more common ones are formaldehyde (in furniture), benzene (in cleaning supplies), toluene (in paints), and Ethylbenene (in paints, varnishes, cleaning supplies).

Certified HEPA Filter

Mila is equipped with a Certified HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filter – the only filtration technology that guarantees the removal of at least 99.97% of airborne particles that includes dust, dust mites, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, fungi, bacteria, viruses, PM2.5, and PM10 with a size of 0.3 micrometers (µm) in diameter.

Mila filters only need to be replaced twice a year, and with 7 different types of air filters to address the specific air quality goals you would like to achieve for your home. For example, the Basic Breather comes with a HEPA filter but no carbon filter, whereas The Overreactor comes with a hospital-grade filter, and a carbon filter strong enough to eliminate VOCs.

Airborne Viruses

Mila has the power to help remove up to 95.7% of airborne viruses in an average sized bedroom. Third party lab tests showed that Mila can quickly dilute the concentration of airborne viral particles that can float around in indoor air for hours.

The third party tested Mila to be able to filter out airborne viruses in the air through a 1,007 ft3 stainless-steel chamber where the viruses were converted into an aerosol. From a physical substance into the form of particles small and light enough to be carried in the air, they tested Mila’s multi-pass virus filtration efficiency using the MS-2 bacteriophage (ATCC 15597-B1) – a proxy for most virus sizes, including SARS-CoV2.

8 Built-in Air Quality Sensors

Mila is equipped with 8 super sensors for real-time monitoring and tracking of everything from carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, VOC levels, other airborne particulate matter, temperature, and humidity levels.

Mila also makes air quality easy to understand with an app that measures different components of indoor air quality. Laying everything out so it’s easy to follow and see the air quality of your rooms, giving you updates, and adjusting settings as needed.

One of Mila’s sensors also gives her the ability to be intuitive and sense when you’re at home to signal her to quiet down while still cleaning the air, and get back to deep cleaning when you leave.

Clean air in your home is one of the most essential elements to healthy living indoors, but often times gets overlooked because we can’t see or measure it, or it looks to complicated. Mila’s next-generation technology is designed to let you simply see the indoor air quality in your rooms, and understand what’s actually going on so you can focus on relaxing and breathing clean, healthy air.
